West can be good wind direction at Blithfield with a reasonable rolling chop building up and usually a solid breeze. This afternoon, however, there were huge holes in the wind and the Max 2 Air was off the plane more than on, but the 5.3 was plenty in the gusts.

After a couple of disappointing sessions someone suggested taking out the FSW 100. I thought it would be too big in the chop, but I gave it a go. What a difference it made - planing most of the time and comfortable in the chop. Made some good progress with the chop hops, but was too tired to do much more after the earlier sessions. Next time I am wallowing on the M2A I will change boards a bit quicker.

As I was packing up the wind filled in and it looked really good - everyone else had gone.
